Executive Search

The executive search process is aimed at attracting highly skilled or hard-to-recruit executive leadership positions. Executive leadership positions (for this purpose) are defined as roles within the following categories:

  • College Dean and Vice-Provost
  • Faculty Dean
  • Vice-President (VP)
  • Associate Vice-President (AVP)
  • Executive Director (ED)
  • Director

SEARCH PROCESS

Dean Executive Searches

College Dean and Vice-Provost and Faculty Dean searches are led by Faculty Relations (FR) in the Office of the Provost and Vice-President (Academic). These searches operate as a recruitment process that can be aided by an external search firm. For more information on the dean selection processes, visit the Selection and Review website.

Executive Leadership Searches

Executive leadership searches (e.g. Vice-President, Associate Vice-President, Executive Director, Director) are initiated by the hiring manager and operate as a recruitment process that can be managed by an external search firm on behalf of the university.

Searches for the university’s Vice-Presidents follow the Vice-Presidential Search Procedure  .
