LA Medical Clinic
Overview
LA Medical Clinic is located in Leduc, just 15 minutes south of Edmonton. Leduc is a lovely community of about 30,000 residents with great resources. The local specialists delight in having students to teach. The location has a “smaller town” feel without really being in a small town, and since the clinic is so close to the “big city,” medical back-up is superb. The community serves a diverse younger population in Leduc, a large rural population, in addition to south Edmonton. A large part of the patient population is of lower socioeconomic status and/or lower health literacy. The clinic is fully computerized and uses an electronic medical record (EMR) for charting. The hospital is well-run and well-staffed. Several physicians who recently joined the practice were University of Alberta family medicine residents who did their family medicine rotation at this clinic.
