We are leaders in clinical training and quality improvement.
The clinic is the curriculum for family medicine residents. The Department of Family Medicine is proud to offer educational experiences across our academic teaching sites, distributed community sites, and rural and regional programs. These sites work toward the common goal of teaching and advancing the discipline of family medicine. Quality improvement is part of our culture, as we gather and evaluate data to continually improve the care we provide.
We are role models of the Patient’s Medical Home.
Our department envisions a healthcare system where all patients have access to a family physician and a team of interdisciplinary healthcare professionals providing proactive, timely, individualized, comprehensive, and continuous care. The Patient’s Medical Home environment is patient-centered and team-based, exemplified in our academic teaching centres. Providing training experience in this environment encourages residents to pursue practice in similar environments upon graduation.
