The Department of Family Medicine Undergraduate Program coordinates the Longitudinal Theme sessions for Year 1 to 4 medical students. Longitudinal Clinical Experience
The Department of Family Medicine Undergraduate Program coordinates the Longitudinal Clinical Experience (LCE) for Year 1 and Year 2 medical students. The LCE provides students with early real-life clinical exposure in the patient care setting. There they can apply classroom learning from the Longitudinal Themes communications sessions and newly developed clinical skills to the care of patients while simultaneously developing long-term relationships with community preceptors. These placements provide an excellent opportunity to expose students to Family Medicine early in their careers.
Starting September 2023: Year 1 and Year 2 medical students will complete 5 half-day sessions over the academic year.
