The final course in this series reviews facial analysis and provides a cadaver lab with a live demo using a cannula for face sculpting and hands-on injection of live patients.

Course Overview

Summary

During the theory module, participants will Review applied anatomy, anatomy of the aging face, volume loss and changes, and fat compartments of the face and its clinical implications. Participants will also begin exploring advanced full facial sculpting including the mandibular angel and the inferior border definition.

To facilitate clinical confidence, this course consists of didactic lectures, a clinical anatomic cadaver lab, and injection practice where participants will have the opportunity to administer injections with chair side assistance.

Because this course consists of injection practice, we highly recommend that participants bring their RDAs. Learn more about our Neuromodulators Assistant course.

Syllabus

Prior to the start of the course we recommend 2-3 weeks of self-study to review the materials.

Theory Module - Review of Facial Analysis

During the didactic lectures we will explore will:

  • Review applied anatomy
  • Explore the anatomy of the aging face
  • Discuss volume loss and changes
  • Explore the clinical implications of the fat compartments of the face
  • Discuss advanced full facial sculpting including the mandibular angel and the inferior border definition
Hands-on Module Part 1 - Cadaver Lab

During the cadaver lab, participants will:

  • Practice the setup for Cannula Technique
  • Practice the technique for Sterile Setup
  • Conduct a systematic review of Cannula Technique
  • Practice Cannula Dissections in lab
Hands-on Module Part 2 - Injection Practice

Lastly, during the injection practice participants will have the opportunity to practice injections on up to 6 live patients with chairside guidance following a live instructor demo.

During this portion of the hands-on module participants will also receive a live patient demo using the cannula et al techniques for face sculpting.

Prerequisites

  • This course is open to dentists, physicians, pharmacists, LPNs and RNs.
  • Completion of Level 4B-1 no sooner than 3 months prior. Note, registrants must also apply for Level 4B-2 within 6 months of completing Level 4B-1.
