The Central Academic Building is located on the east side of the Main Quad, centralized on North Campus. The building serves as a primary hub and connection point along various internal pedestrian pathways. Its proximity and direct connection to the main Quad, South Academic Building, Cameron Library, and Chemistry Complex makes it a natural location for students to congregate, rest, study, eat and socialize. The program to revitalize this building is pivotal to the university’s goals of establishing student centered multi-purpose spaces to foster and support student engagement.
The Central Academic Building rehabilitation seamlessly integrates the remainder of the main floor with the already completed renovations on the southwest side and lower level of the building.
