Tree maintenance and removals

What

Some trees located on our campuses have either been scheduled for maintenance or have been deemed too unhealthy and pose a safety risk to the community and have been scheduled for removal.

Please keep a safe distance from any work in the area and obey posted signage.

Trees on our campuses are highly valued and U of A seeks ways to identify preventative measures and minimize disruption to the trees on our campuses, but there are times when trees are deemed too unhealthy and pose a safety risk to the community. In those instances, removals are required.

Before decisions regarding trees are made, the university works with an external certified arborist to assess the area and identify any preventative measures required to minimize disruption to the tree’s health structures and ecosystem.
