An electrical vault is being installed south of the Heritage Medical Research Building (HMRC) between the service/emergency access laneway and the building.

Construction began October 7 and is expected to last until October 2025.

Pedestrian access from the south doors of HMRC will be maintained throughout construction. Use designated passages when travelling near construction.

While the vehicle laneway will be reduced to one lane during construction, access from the north and south ends of the laneway will be open to one-way traffic during the majority of construction to allow service and emergency vehicles to pass.

Access to the Li Ka Shing Centre loading dock will be maintained throughout construction, as well as access to the HMRC fuel tank.

Construction will require the removal of trees from the area. Two light poles and asphalt will also be removed during construction, to be replaced at the end of the project.
