Relax in the gardens and join this well-being experience where we will discuss dental ergonomics, mental health and physical wellness.
Our sessions will occur in the magnificent Aga Khan Garden, in its newest elegant structure — The Diwan. The tranquil setting is the perfect retreat for your whole dental office to focus on mindfulness strategies, all while earning continuing education credits.

Dr. Bethany Valachi
Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist
Dr. Bethany Valachi, PT, DPT, MS, CEAS is the author of the book, Practice Dentistry Pain-Free, a clinical instructor of ergonomics at OHSU School of Dentistry in Portland, Oregon and is recognized internationally as an expert in dental ergonomics.
Bethany is founder and CEO of Posturedontics®, a company that provides research-based dental ergonomic education. For over 20 years, Dr. Valachi has helped thousands of dental professionals prevent pain and extend their careers with her ground-breaking dental ergonomic education. She has published more than 80 articles in dental journals and offers online dental ergonomic CE courses on her website.
Justin Long
Registered psychologist
Justin Long, MCP, is a registered psychologist, sessional professor at Concordia University of Edmonton, clinical instructor at the University of Alberta Faculty of Dentistry and Medicine, and adjunct faculty at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Education.
He has been working in the mental health field since 2012, and has been lucky to get work in a variety of settings including the Halvar Jonson Centre for Brain Injury, Alberta Hospital Edmonton, the University of Alberta Hospital, and several psychotherapeutic public and private practices. He specializes in posttraumatic stress disorder and chronic pain treatment, and has a special interest in stress management due to the large impact human stress responses have on these conditions.
His recent focus has been integrating psychotherapeutic support for psychological trauma, burnout, stress, and acute/complex critical incidents in multidisciplinary contexts, such as physical therapy clinics, educational programs, and hospital settings.

Anyone can attend who is interested in the intersection of wellness and dentistry. Bring the whole dental office down as our sessions are designed for everyone including dental hygienists, dental assistants, office managers, sterilization assistants, students and dentists.
