Why did you choose the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation for your undergraduate degree?
I am very passionate about physical activity, especially adapted physical activity. This faculty offers excellent classes that go in-depth about providing physical activity and exercise for people of all abilities and all populations.
What is it specifically, that your program offers, that attracted you?
The Adapted Physical Activity (APA) major that is offered by the KSR faculty made me want to be a member of this amazing community.
What has been your favourite course so far and why?
Physical Activity and the Aging Adult, KIN 385, has been my favorite course so far. It gives students the opportunity to work with older adults in the community and allowed me to gain valuable experience in an exercise setting.
What advice do you have for new undergraduate students?
Be willing to make new friends and get involved with the faculty! So many amazing events are offered by KSR that allow you to meet so many new people. Although things may look a little different this year with remote learning, try to still connect with people in your program. This is the best time to make life-long friends!
What do you like to do for fun or relaxation?
I really enjoy hiking or camping in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. I also really enjoy working out (typical kin student answer, I know haha).
Why did you want to choose the photos above?
My favorite part of KSR is all the friendly people! Both pictures are events held by the faculty, the Winter Soiree and the MS Bike Tour. My university experience has been enhanced by all the amazing people I have been able to meet through awesome KSR events. I hope that even without in-person classes, KSR will still be able to connect new students with each other so everyone can have an amazing university experience!
