2019 WCHRI Graduate Studentship award winner
Shima Shahbaz is the recipient of the 2019 WCHRI Graduate Studentship competition award. This award is valued up to $18,000 per year and is designed to support students engaged in full-time, thesis-based graduate level program of study at the University of Alberta. Shima is supervised by Dr. Shokrollah Elahi and her research looks at understanding how the premature brain controls breathing to maintain brain oxygen levels.
