Glenrose dental clinic expansion

The University of Alberta's School of Dentistry recognizes the importance of preparing students to provide treatment for individuals who face physical challenges. The clinical mandate of the Oral Health Services program at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital includes the provision of dental services to inpatient and outpatient populations. This dental clinic at the Glenrose specializes in providing comprehensive service for the treatment and prevention of oral disease in frail, older adults and for individuals with physical disabilities or other care needs. Expanding this service will provide a unique learning environment for dental students. They will have a "hands-on" opportunity to provide treatment for the aged or medically compromised patients. The expansion of the clinic will also provide an expanded and redeveloped space with state-of-the-art equipment and provide patients increased access to specialized oral health care.
