Paul Major, DDS, MSc, FRCD(C)

Paul Major has been a member of the University of Alberta's dental faculty since 1989. He served as the director of the postgraduate TMD/orofacial pain program from 1991 to 2001, and as the director of the orthodontic graduate program from 2001 to 2010. In January 2010, he assumed the role of department chair.

Major is also an alumnus of the University of Alberta. He completed his doctorate of dental surgery (DDS) in 1980, graduating first in his class and receiving a gold medal for outstanding academic achievement. He went on to complete orthodontic specialty training in 1986 and a M.Sc. degree in 1988.

During his academic career, he has published more than 200 scientific publications and has supervised the research of more than 75 graduate students. He continues to teach in the clinical setting, conduct research and supervise graduate student research.
