University of Alberta International's Global Engagement unit helps facilitate strategic international collaborations for the U of A by serving as a connector between the university and the world, working with partners on campus, in Canada, and across the globe to build and foster global connections, raise the university's profile internationally, and develop new opportunities for innovation in teaching, research, and service.

U of A is also a member of the Worldwide Universities Network, a leading global higher education and research network of 24 universities across 6 continents. Many of our Faculties have joint and dual degree programs or offshore programs to provide unique learning opportunities to students.

Our team offers the following services:

Provides regional expertise and strategic advice for the development and implementation of global partnerships and major international initiatives aligned with the University Strategic Plan for stakeholders across campus
Initiates and maintains relationships with key institutions, including managing the development of Faculty and institutional level international agreements
Hosts distinguished delegations from foreign governments and international partners, and organizes select high-profile events and webinars
Coordinates international missions led by senior administrators
Maintains a database of and prepares briefings on the university's global engagements
Identifies and promotes international funding opportunities
