I-Week 2023 Art Competition
Congratulations to the winner of the 2023 Art Competition: Yimeng Tong for New Form Water Yōkai / 新形水妖怪. This image represents SDG #06: Clean Water and Sanitation. Tong’s beautiful piece touches on “the issue of Fukushima nuclear waste dumping and its detrimental effects on the environment and mankind.” Thank you to Yimeng Tong, the other three finalists Sophie Wei, Isaiah Derksen, and Sabrina Shanta, and all of the entrants for participating.
About the contest: As part of I-Week, UAI hosted a visual arts competition inviting entrants to present art on any UN Sustainable Development Goal. Four finalists were chosen, and their pieces were displayed in person and online during the week's events. The winner was determined via a public vote and will receive a $500 gift card for art supplies.
