Welcome to Administrative Services in the Department of Medicine at the University of Alberta.

The Chair's Office
- Supports Dr. Narmin Kassam, Chair of the Department of Medicine and Clinical Department Head of the Edmonton Zone of Alberta Health Services.

The Financial Support Team
- Assists department members with navigating numerous University of Alberta financial policies, procedures, and forms.
- Monitors and provides internal control and counsel on all financial matters for the department.
- Provides training to faculty and staff on how to process financial claims.

The Research and Graduate Education Team
- Provides support for the graduate education program and postdoctoral fellows.
- Reviews grants, studentships, and fellowship applications.
- Administers the Department of Medicine Me2 Majumdar Research and QI Day.

HR Services Team
- Serves as the primary point of contact for questions regarding hiring employees within the Department of Medicine.
- Triages questions and concerns, escalating to the appropriate individual or areas as needed.
- Creates personnel IDs and provides guest access as required through Campus Solutions.

The Divisional Administrative Support (DAS) Team
- Provides direct administrative support to the Divisional Directors and Edmonton Zone Section Chiefs.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for all administrative inquiries and will direct requests to the appropriate department.

The Divisional Program Support (DPS) Team
- Updates academic CVs, teaching dossiers, and CCVs.
- Assists with calendar management, room bookings, and scheduling.
- Offers back-up support to the DAS team.

The Facilities Coordinator
- Serves as the primary point of contact for key and lock changes, proximity card access, and telecommunications.
- Assists with space planning and coordinating with dispatch services.

The Faculty Development Team
- Assists to create an educational and scientific environment where there is freedom of expression with balanced risk-taking and self-examination encouraging growth in all three spheres of career development: professional, personal, and institutional.

The Medical Education Team
- Serves as the primary point of contact for medical students, residents, and clinical fellows for education programs and sub-specialties.

The Internal Engagement and Events Team
- Coordinates major events, conferences and educational rounds for the Department of Medicine and for some divisions.
- Distributes communications for the Chair's Office.
- Manages and updates the department and divisional websites.

13th Floor Conference Room
A large conference room on the 13th floor of the Clinical Sciences Building (CSB) is available for department members. It can comfortably seat 22 individuals in a boardroom-style set-up (see images).
