Celebrating the past to shape the future
The Department of Medicine's 100th anniversary celebration on November 1 was a resounding success, honouring the University of Alberta’s legacy of medical advancement, education, and compassionate care.
The daytime Day of Discovery event featured reflections on past challenges that paved the way for breakthroughs, admiration for today’s accomplishments, and a forward-looking sense of hope for the future.
In the evening, we partied with a black-tie gala at the Edmonton Convention Centre, where distinguished guests, including university leaders, emeritus faculty, former chairs, residents, students and alumni, gathered to pay tribute to the department’s accomplishments and look to the future. And then we finished the night with an unforgettable musical experience with a live band performance featuring talented (past and present) members of the Department of Medicine.
