Dr. Sysyn discussed the development of Ukrainian studies in North America, particularly at Harvard University and the University of Alberta. Dr. Frank Sysyn is director of the Peter Jacyk Centre for Ukrainian Historical Research (CIUS) and a professor of history at the University of Alberta; heads the Holodomor Research and Education Consortium’s executive committee; and has also taught at Harvard and Columbia universities. He was the editor-in chief of Mykhailo Hrushevsky’s History of Ukraine-Rus' in English translation (12 vols) and Father Mykhailo Zubrytsky’s collected works (3 vols); and is the author or co-editor of numerous publications in early modern Ukrainian history, Ukrainian church studies, and Holodomor studies.
