About us
CIUS Press is the publishing arm of the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies centred at the University of Alberta. We are a leading publisher of scholarly books about Ukraine and Ukrainians in Canada and around the globe.
The primary focus is on new and original scholarship and research in English on Ukrainian history, language, literature, contemporary Ukraine, and Ukrainians in Canada. CIUS Press also occasionally publishes English translations of Ukrainian scholarship and belles-letters and monographs and memoirs in Ukrainian.
CIUS Press has published over one hundred and fifty books in English, Ukrainian, French, and Russian, including articles in Polish, Romanian, German, and Spanish that appear in various titles. More than twenty of their books have been copublished with Western academic presses and, since 1991, with publishers in Ukraine.The Institute has also published over forty issues of the Journal of Ukrainian Studies and more than sixty research reports.
Their online bookstore has emerged to maintain the highest standards of accessibility to information for professional educators, students, professionals & the community interested in Ukrainian history & culture.
