Ukrainian Film Festival in Alberta

The Ukrainian Film Festival in Alberta (UFFA), previously The Ukrainian Film Festival in Edmonton, is co-organized by the Alberta Society for the Advancement of Ukrainian Studies and by the Contemporary Ukraine Studies Program at the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies, University of Alberta, in cooperation with the Ukrainian Resource and Development Centre at MacEwan University and the financial support from the Government of Alberta.
Since its inaugural year in 2023, the UFFA aims to present annually a selection of contemporary Ukrainian films that have been acclaimed by world critics and have won various international awards. Over the course of three days, festival-goers have the opportunity to watch the brightest representatives of Ukrainian cinema in recent years and taste what the world of contemporary Ukrainian cinema has to offer.
This year, the Ukrainian Film Festival in Alberta (UFFA) will showcase a selection of contemporary films about Ukraine in Edmonton and Calgary. These critically acclaimed films have received international recognition and won numerous awards.
Over two weekends, festival-goers will have the opportunity to experience some of the most outstanding works of contemporary Ukrainian cinema.
