Volunteering and involvement in extracurricular activities can be an excellent way to develop the skills and knowledge you'll need for future careers and to explore career fields. Be intentional about what you hope to gain or learn from your participation with organizations on and off campus.

Volunteering in Camrose

There are many organizations to volunteer within Camrose including, but not limited to, Camrose & District Support Services, The City of Camrose, The Jeanne & Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre, St. Mary's Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, Camrose BGC, Camrose Women's Shelter, Special Olympics, etc.

Camrose & District Support Services maintains a database of organizations and services. The Help Book can be used as a resource to help you find volunteer opportunities while studying in Camrose.

View postings for internships, permanent, temporary, and summer positions. Postings are open to all students and alumni. Employers include those in the Edmonton and Camrose areas, as well as national and international.

Advising Appointments

  • Rapid Resume Reviews. Receive a 10 minute review of your resume, focusing on making sure it is effective at presenting all your strengths and skills in a succinct format.

  • Advising appointments. These are 60 min individualized appointments that can include:
    • Career advising,
    • LinkedIn profile critique,
    • Mock interviews, or
    • Resume, CV, Cover Letter, and Application critiques.
These appointments must be booked through campusBridge: Career Centre Appointments -> Book by Appointment Type -> Undergraduate: Augustana Campus
Appointments are available in-person, at Augustana Campus from late September to early April, or virtually. 

  • Career Resource navigation appointment. This is a 20-minute appointment, at Augustana Campus. Students will receive individualized recommendations for programming and services that will benefit the student as they manage their career.

Grants & Funding Programs

Funding can be a challenge for students who want to get involved in co-curricular and experiential learning activities. Grants help students access learning and professional development activities throughout their education. From conferences to field trips to undergraduate research, students can build skills, make connections, and increase their employability.
