Innovation Pathways: Harnessing Normalization Process Theory for Effective Implementation
Normalization Process Theory Masterclass
Join us for a two-day masterclass designed to explore the contribution that using Normalization Process Theory (NPT) can make to the implementation of advances in the organization and delivery of care. Leading implementation scientists, Dr. Carl May and Dr. Tracy Finch, will deliver an intensive introduction to theory-driven implementation research and design in health and social care.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand how implementation theory, and NPT in particular contributes to the design and evaluation of complex healthcare interventions
- Explore the ways in which healthcare services embed inequities and how NPT-informed design can help mitigate them
- Explore the ways in which NPT can be used to guide practical implementation activity
- Work together to explore how NPT methods can be used to enhance your research and implementation projects.
Call for abstract submissions (Deadline August 1, 2025)
We welcome and encourage participants to submit abstracts of planned, in progress, or complete implementation studies from research, policy, programs, and practice. Abstracts will be reviewed by Dr. Carl May and Dr. Tracy Finch to help them better understand and tailor the workshop to participant needs, as well as provide participants with individualized feedback. Participants will have an opportunity to present their abstracts during our Poster Walk and Social on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 and will also have dedicated time each day of the masterclass to engage with participants and facilitators about their study.
