Anti-Racism: Reporting
We understand that clear, explicit and transparent information on the available reporting mechanisms should be communicated to faculty, staff and learners.
The FoMD has enabled a Racism Reporting System for anonymous or non-anonymous reporting. Faculty, learners and staff are able to report to a manager, supervisor, course leader, department chair or other trusted academic staff or faculty member, who is expected to provide the person(s) with options for formal or informal reporting. Institutionally, reports can be taken to the University of Alberta Office of Safe Disclosure and Human Rights. We will continue efforts to communicate and remind everyone at FoMD of these options to safely report incidents of racism.
Faculty, learners and staff will learn to identify and understand how to respond to incidents of racism, and report on repetitive events of microaggressions as they occur in the work and learning environments.
