“L’Imaginaire d’après Clara Davoine” exhibition
20 January 2023
The University of Alberta's Campus Saint-Jean is pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition "L'Imaginaire d'après Clara Davoine" on Monday, January 30, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. in the Lacerte Pavilion of Campus Saint-Jean. Nearly 35 enlarged reproductions of the artist's work will then be displayed throughout the month of February in the corridors of the McMahon Building.
Clara Davoine has been developing her artistic talents since childhood and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Campus Saint-Jean. Clara is currently working on several artistic projects, including the development of an animated film based on Edgar Allan Poe's "The Fall of the House of Usher", produced by Cygnet & Swan in Australia, while pursuing a Master's degree at Campus Saint-Jean. For Clara, art or the act of creating is both an escape and an outlet. Artistically, Clara is inspired by the Pre-Raphaelite movement and illustrations from the golden age of illustration by artists such as Arthur Rackham, Gustave Doré and Edmund Dulac.
The original works will be presented at the opening, along with high-resolution reproductions.
This exhibition is an initiative of Campus Saint-Jean to display and promote the artistic and cultural talents of its community. Other exhibitions and cultural presentations are planned.
