On September 17th, close to 100 students in Campus Saint-Jean's Education program attended the second lunchtime short course session presented in partnership with the Consortium provincial francophone pour l'éducation professionnelle des enseignants. Sarah Fedoration, guidance counsellor for French immersion programs of the Edmonton Catholic schools, and Lynnette Anderson, director of the Monsignor William Irwin of the same school board, spoke about the importance of cultivating a relationship of trust between teachers and students' parents or tutors. They also presented several very practical strategies that teachers can use in order to create positive and productive links with parents or tutors in order to optimize student learning.
They invited participants to work on a communication problem that they had presented.
Thanks to their dynamic approach, our two presenters captivated their audience while providing them with actual and practical information on a matter of great importance for their professional success.
The next short course will take place on September 24th - a school director and a teacher will provide students with innovative ideas on how to optimize the programming of the schoolyear in both elementary and secondary programs.
