On October 8, a good crowd of education students turned out for the fifth « Midi-Rencontre » micro-session offered by the education program. Brandon Yassin, who is starting his third year of teaching in a Grade 6 class at Holyrood School, and Mark Babin, a former high school teacher and now the instructor of an introduction to teaching course at Campus Saint-Jean, spoke on the importance of being proactive and establishing a positive relationship with students and parents, putting clear procedures and routines in place right from the beginning of the school year, and using a system of logical consequences to stop unwanted behaviours that come up. The final micro-session of the semester, on Tuesday, October 15, will be on stress management.
