Wildlife and Field Research
University of Alberta's Field Research Office (FRO) maintains a list of Frequently Needed Permits for Canadian wildlife research and offers guidance to ensure compliance with University policies. The provincial government provides resources, including wildlife standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidance for working in Alberta's parks, to assist investigators. While it is encouraged to use these resources, researchers must ensure compliance with the more rigorous standards of the Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC).
