Horizon Europe
The Research Partner Network (RPNet) team offers support for research proposal development to Horizon Europe, the European Commission’s major research funding mechanism.
Pillar II: Global Challenges & European Industrial Competitiveness
Boosting key technologies and solutions underpinning EU policies & the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Broken down into 6 Clusters: Health; Culture, Creativity & Inclusive Societies; Civil Security for Society; Digital, Industry & Space; Climate, Energy & Mobility; and Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture & Environment
Pillar I: European Research Council (ERC) Synergy Grant
While Canada has become associated to only Pillar II of Horizon Europe, Canadian researchers can also receive funding through the ERC’s Synergy Grant (SyG) program. Pillar I supports “Excellent Science” through grants to individual researchers (and their teams) who have innovative ideas. One of the researchers in this group can be working at any eligible institution in the world, even if the host country is not associated with Horizon europe.
Drop-in Info Sessions
Are you interested in diving a bit deeper into Horizon Europe? Do you have questions about the scope and motivation of the programme, Clusters, Calls, and Topics? Are you confused by the F&T Portal, the IP policy, or the eligibility rules? Come to a drop-in info session and get an overview of the “Key Considerations”, learn about the EU’s motivation behind each of the Pillar II Clusters, and ask any questions you have.
