The CREATE program and grants support innovative research training and mentorship programs for graduate students and postgraduate fellows in the natural sciences and engineering (NSE). These programs encourage collaboration, address scientific challenges, and facilitate the transition of researchers into various sectors.
SUPPORT FOR RESEARCHERS
Adjudication is done by Research Administration Services (RAS) at the University of Alberta. Contact the affiliated Research Partner for application guidance and support.

Up to $1.65 million over six years (Up to $150,000 for the first year, followed by up to $300,000/year for five subsequent years)

Keep in mind that these samples reflect past applications and may not align with current guidelines. Check the NSERC website for the most up-to-date information to ensure compliance with current competition guidelines. Please do not duplicate or distribute the sample applications used for reference.
NSERC CREATE Information Webinar for Prospective Applicants
In preparation for the next CREATE competition, NSERC will hold an information session via MS Teams webinar to provide an overview of the CREATE program and application process. Important changes have been made to the CREATE program and application procedures, and thus your attendance is highly recommended. Registration is not required.
