Message from the Chair
Thank you for your interest in the Department of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Alberta. In our department we strive for excellence in education, research and clinical care. Our team includes: 125 Clinical Faculty, 11 GFT Faculty, 5 administrative support staff and 2 research nurses. We have postgraduate residency programs in: Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Pediatric Radiology. We offer post residency fellowships in: Musculoskeletal Imaging, Body Imaging, Cardiothoracic Imaging, Interventional Radiology, Neuroradiology and Pediatric Radiology. We play an important role in undergraduate medical education and we have a thriving graduate student program
Our residency programs offer a tremendous experience in a wide variety of settings; including two tertiary care hospitals, several community hospitals and outpatient clinics. We have a diverse and talented faculty and a tremendous breadth of clinical material to learn from. We have faculty with subspecialty expertise in all areas Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. Imaging equipment at the teaching hospitals is state of the art.
Research performed by members of the Department of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging is recognized nationally and internationally. We have particular strengths in musculoskeletal, cardiac, pediatric and neuroimaging. We have close collaborations with other departments, other faculties and other universities.
