Abstract:

Alcohol use disorders are prevalent and represent a significant public health concern. Genetic and environmental influences interact to influence the development of alcohol use disorders. In this talk, I will discuss the need to study how genetic risk for alcohol use disorders unfolds across development, highlight the importance of taking a culturally informed approach to study gene-environment interactions in racially/ethnically diverse populations, and share recent findings in this area of research.
