Through ethnographic fieldwork, my researchproject "Waxing Away Illness" aimed to collectinformation about the Ukrainian waxceremony as it is being practiced in WesternCanada, and preserve this information for future generations. This study was successful in increasing awareness and discourse around this under-researched topic in Ukrainian-Canadian culture and history.
