Postdoctoral Fellowships
The Department of Modern Languages and Cultural Studies welcomes applications to the following postdoctoral fellowships, in the areas of applied linguistics, media and cultural studies, comparative and transnational literatures, and translation studies.
Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships are prestigious two year fellowships awarded to top tier Canadian and international postdoctoral researchers. Seventy fellowships are awarded each year. These fellowships are administered by Canada's three granting councils - Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
Killam Postdoctoral Fellowships
The Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Postdoctoral Fellowship is provided annually from the Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Fund for Advanced Studies established through a bequest from the late Dorothy J Killam. The primary purpose of the programs is to support advanced education and research at five Canadian universities and the Canada Council for the Arts. The top ranked recipient will receive the Dorothy Killam Memorial Postdoctoral Fellow Prize, valued at $7,500.

SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowships
SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowships support new holders of PhDs in the social sciences and humanities for a minimum of 12 months and a maximum of 24 months. These taxable, non-renewable fellowships are valued at $70,000 per year.
