Joint Undergraduate Medical Education Program
The Alberta Institute, Wenzhou Medical University offers a joint MD program that includes essentials from Canadian medical education and an opportunity to experience a Canadian medical setting. Through this special stream, students will be able to complete a mixed program that combines the Wenzhou Medical University curriculum with the University of Alberta medical curriculum.
The program is delivered at Wenzhou Medical University, with a visit to the University of Alberta to receive additional educational content and skills training.
Students who take this program have the unique advantage of a broader medical education experience with an international approach, and dedicated time learning from a network of renowned Canadian physicians during their visit to the University of Alberta.

Overview
First and second years: Students learn from the Wenzhou Medical University curriculum, including some aspects of Canadian curriculum.
Summer program: Between the second and third years, medical students visit the University of Alberta for an interactive experience with the Canadian health-care system and to learn about Canadian culture.
Third and fourth years: Medical students learn from the University of Alberta preclerkship medical curriculum.
During their final year, learners complete their clerkship at Wenzhou Medical University.
