Verifications of Postgraduate Medical Education Training

Our office is responsible for maintaining training records for all current and former PGME trainees in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta. We provide confidential composite verifications of training directly to credentialing and licensing bodies.

Verification services include the following:

  • Verifications of residency (CFPC and RCPSC)
  • Verifications of fellowships (AFC and non-AFC)
  • Verifications of training with university seal

Verifications are processed within 24 hours of receiving a request, and on a case-by-case basis. During peak periods, requests may take up to 72 hours to process.

Submitting your verification


Written Requests

Physicians must provide a letter of written request or a signed authorization form, to release their information.

Signed Release/Authorization by the Physician

Signed releases must include the company logo and the release must be signed by the physician within the past twelve (12) months authorizing the release of their information.


Please do not submit verification requests directly to a residency/fellowship program. Written requests and signed releases can be sent via email to pgemail@ualberta.ca or via mail to the following address:
