Nicole Soderberg
What did you study and where? How long have you been at the Glen Sather Clinic?
I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Victoria and completed my Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Alberta. I have been at the Glen Sather Sports Medicine Clinic since April 2022.
What are your key areas of interest as a physiotherapist?
As a physiotherapist, I love to work with a variety of different people and conditions. Every person is unique and one of my favourite parts of my job is learning what motivates each person and what their goals are. I believe in an exercise-based approach to physiotherapy that incorporates functional exercises based on the persons’ activities. I particularly enjoy working with runners.
What has been your biggest accomplishment as a physiotherapist and/or athlete?
In university, I competed on the varsity Track and Field and Cross-Country teams. One of my biggest accomplishments as a Track and Field Athlete was medaling in the 1000m at the Track and Field Usport Championships in 2015.
What are your favourite ways to stay active?
Outside of work, I like to run or ride my bike. Edmonton has a great system of trails in the river valley and there is nothing I like better than taking in our beautiful city during a run on the trails. I also enjoy rock-climbing, cross-country skiing in the winter and heading out to the mountains for hike whenever I can.
What days/hours are you at the clinic?
You can find me at the Glen Sather Sports Medicine clinic Monday to Friday:
Monday/Wednesday 7-12:30
Tuesday/Thursday 1-6:30
Fridays from 10-3:30pm
