Engineering IT is here to support the IT needs of engineering researchers. We provide the following technical support and consulting services:

  • Research server and high-performance workstations
  • Purchase and operation of network licenses for research
  • Research file storage and backups (e.g., R drive, NAS)
  • Support for Linux OS on desktops and servers
  • Engineering software installation and support for graduate students support (e.g., Solidworks, Abaqus)
  • Engineering software for graduate students
  • PCs attached to lab equipment (e.g., Microscopes)

  • Chat with Vera: Vera is a chatbot that is available 24/7 and has access to all our IST web content, as well as our IST knowledge base.

Campus Resources

The IST Centres of Expertise will assume full responsibility and accountability for the IT services being transitioned from Engineering, excluding research IT. This will include things like providing support for desktops, laptops, networking, and enterprise applications. It will also include things like maintenance and administration of systems, non-research licenses and evergreening technology.

Fall/Winter (Effective September 1, 2022)
Monday to Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m., 1 - 3:30 p.m.

Spring/Summer 
Monday to Thursday:8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
