About Our Students
Engineering has been taught at the University of Alberta for over 100 years. The reputation of our faculty is built on a proud history of excellence in teaching, research, and community service.
Since 1908, more than 20,000 graduates from the Faculty of Engineering have gone on to use their skills, creativity, and imagination to make significant contributions towards the betterment of society. Our undergraduate and graduate students receive an exceptional engineering education that prepares them for rewarding careers in the following disciplines and specializations:

In addition to formal classroom learning, our faculty actively supports the vibrant student culture on campus. The Faculty of Engineering strongly encourages students to engage in engineering clubs and competitive project teams. These experiences enable students to apply their classroom knowledge and enhance their teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. Such hands-on experiences are invaluable, preparing students for successful careers in the industry.

Key On-Campus Recruitment Periods
Traditional peak on-campus recruitment periods are:
- Early September to mid-November
- Early January to mid-March
We encourage you to plan your on-campus recruitment activities early as demand can exceed room availability.
