Ye Xue
Ye Xue holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Sydney. His research
focuses on non-Western IR theory, Chinese foreign policy, and Australian foreign
policy. Additionally, his extensive experience as an international student studying
abroad has inspired him to explore Chinese international students’ political participation in host societies. His work has been published in leading peer-reviewed
journals, including The Pacific Review, Journal of Contemporary China, International Journal, Contemporary Politics, Australian Journal of International Affairs, and Asia Policy.
Before joining The China Institute, he held teaching and research positions at the University of Sydney, the Australian National University, and the Lowy Institute. Prior to transitioning to academia, he briefly worked in the Chinese football industry, where he realised that football in China could be a passion but not a profession. His Australian Kelpie, Sydney, proudly serves as The China Institute’s office dog.
