Undergraduate Scholarships

Types of Scholarships

Entrance Awards

Entrance Awards are for students who are entering the first year of an undergraduate program at Campus Saint-Jean from high school or are entering with less than 24 post-secondary transfer credits. Students must be new to the U of A to be eligible for these awards. There are a multitude of Entrance Awards available to CSJ students, with values ranging from $400 to $10,000. The criteria for these awards may include, among other factors, academic achievements, leadership, and community involvement. Campus Saint-Jean students have access to scholarships offered to all UofA students. Additionally, by submitting a scholarship application via the Awards Hub, they are also considered for scholarships offered specifically to CSJ students.

Please note undergraduate entrance scholarship applications closed January 10, 2024.

Awards for Continuing Students

Continuing Student Awards are for students who have successfully completed at least one year in one of our undergraduate programs and are continuing into a further year of study at Campus Saint-Jean. There are a multitude of scholarships available to students pursuing their studies at Campus Saint-Jean, with values up to $10,000. Some of these awards are awarded by nomination by Campus Saint-Jean and do not require an application. However, many are awarded to students who submit a scholarship application via the Awards Hub. You may find more information about these scholarships as well as deadlines on the Office of the Registrar website.

The application for undergraduate scholarships and awards will open in February 2025.

This information is a general guideline for courseload requirements for the University of Alberta undergraduate awards and should assist you in determining your eligibility. If you still have questions regarding your eligibility, please contact the Student Service Centre.

  • A minimum of 24 credits taken from September to April is required to be considered for awards unless otherwise specified in the terms of the award or terms of the award competition.
  • If the terms of the award or the award competition require full-time studies a student must have completed a minimum of 9 credits in each of the Fall and Winter terms.
  • Award recipients are normally required to maintain full-time studies registration in the upcoming year to receive the full value of the award.
  • If you will be enrolled part-time in the upcoming year of study or are convocating please email us at awards@ualberta.ca for clarification.
  • Students who are registered with Accessibility Resources for an approved reduced courseload will be considered based on their specific accommodations. Please note that normally Alberta Student Aid funded scholarships do not consider approved accommodations (ex. The Jason Lang and Louise McKinney Scholarship).
