Faculté Saint-Jean graduate students win prizes in the Western Final of Acfas's My Thesis in 180 Seconds (MT180).

Two master's students from the University of l'Alberta's Francophone faculty campus, Faculté Saint-Jean, won prizes at the Western Final of Acfas's My Thesis in 180 Seconds (MT180), which took place at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia.
Valérie Dionne won the Masters category of the competition with her presentation entitled “Matrophobia in contemporary Canadian Francophone literature.” Julia Fabbro-Smith won the audience award with her presentation entitled “Académie Assomption: the forgotten history of Francophone girls' education in Alberta.”
The event was held on March 21, at Simon Fraser University and was presented by Simon Fraser University in collaboration with the Centre de la francophonie of the University of British Columbia, the University of Victoria and Acfas-Alberta.
Acfas's competition My Thesis in 180 Seconds (MT180) allows master's and doctoral students to present their research topic in simple terms to a general audience. Each candidate must give a clear, concise and convincing presentation of their research project in three minutes.
