Celebrate International Francophonie Day at Campus Saint-Jean!

Message from the Dean on the theme “French, a language that brings us together”

20 March 2025

Today, March 20, we celebrate the Journée internationale de la Francophonie, (International Francophonie Day) an opportunity to celebrate the richness and diversity of Francophonie, a common heritage that unites millions of people around the world. At the Campus Saint-Jean, Francophonie is much more than just a language of instruction or communication. It is the soul of our institution, a space for dialogue, creativity and sharing. Every day, we experience Francophonie through our courses, our research, our cultural events and our daily exchanges. It is the beating heart of our identity, a bridge between cultures, a vector of knowledge and openness to the world.

This year, we invite you to participate in a special event to mark this day: a panel discussion on the theme “French, a language that brings us together”. This event will be held at noon in the Grand Salon of the Lacerte Pavilion.

This panel will be an opportunity to explore together the many facets of this language that brings us together. We have brought together a panel of experts, enthusiasts and witnesses who will share with us their experiences, their reflections and their visions. They will show us how French, far from being a fixed language, is a space for dialogue, creativity and solidarity.

We invite you to join us for this event, which promises to be enriching and stimulating. Together, let us celebrate the Francophonie and its essential role in building a fairer and more inclusive world.

Happy International Day of La Francophonie!
