Funding received for the overhaul of CSJ's bilingual business bachelor program.

Campus Saint-Jean, the francophone campus of the University of Alberta, has received a $450,000 grant to redesign and relaunch its bilingual Bachelor of Commerce program.
The new program, which will be offered starting in fall 2027, will be a direct-entry program, which contrasts sharply with the current program where students must first complete a year at the Campus before being able to apply to the Alberta School of Business.
Another important feature of this overhaul is the increase in the proportion of courses taught in French on campus, which will strengthen the bilingual dimension of the program. In addition, the BBCom will have the same courses as the BCom program at the Alberta School of Business, one of the best and most sought-after programs in the country.
For Professor Jason Carey, Dean of the Campus Saint-Jean, “this support from the federal and provincial governments will help to meet some of the growing demand from the business community in Western Canada for bilingual professionals capable of opening up new markets in Canada and abroad. In this month of the Francophonie, the importance of this vision of a dynamic and expanding Francophonie cannot be underestimated. We thank the various levels of government that have worked together to ensure that this bilingual bachelor of commerce program can contribute significantly to the growth of the Francophone and bilingual economy in Alberta."
