March 8, 2024: Celebrating International Women's Day
7 March 2024
Today, Friday, March 8, 2024, Campus Saint-Jean celebrates International Women's Day. On this day, the entire Campus community recognizes and celebrates the achievements of women and girls in all fields. Many members of the Campus community will have in mind the achievements of the Honourable Mary Moreau, a Campus alumna appointed a few months ago to the highest court in the land; thanks to her appointment, the Supreme Court of Canada is for the first time majority female.
But while this day is one of celebration and tribute, the Campus recognizes that there is still much progress to be made in the fight against inequality, particularly in the area of pay equity.
Campus Saint-Jean is thus pleased to support the work of the Coalition des Femmes de l’Alberta. This non-profit organization is dedicated to the cause of francophone women in the province, and intervenes in various sectors of strategic importance, contributing to the social, political and economic advancement of French-speaking Albertans.
Campus Saint-Jean is proud to join the Coalition des Femmes de l'Alberta in celebrating International Women's Day. The Campus is hosting a two-day celebration on March 8 and 9, featuring roundtable discussions on mental health and EDI (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion), as well as workshops on automation and women's resilience. A silent auction will be organized to provide French-language resources for women victims of violence.
