Registrations now open for Education Programs at Satellite Campuses

Registration for education programs offered at Campus Saint-Jean's Calgary, Grande Prairie and Red Deer Satellite Campuses are now open

Satellite campuses at Calgary, Grande Prairie and Red Deer

Campus Saint-Jean, the University's fully francophone campus, has just opened registration for its education programs offered at its satellite campuses in Calgary, Grande Prairie and Red Deer.

Those interested in becoming teachers can now follow part of the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) at a satellite campus near their home.

At two sites, the program will be offered in partnership with regional post-secondary education institutions: in Grande Prairie in collaboration with Grande Prairie Regional College (GPRC) and in Red Deer in collaboration with Red Deer College (RDC). The premises of the respective institutions will serve as a satellite site for part of the program. Students will also be able to take courses offered by the GPRC and the RDC. The heart of Campus Saint-Jean is its historic and dynamic community. While their studies will be partly or entirely from a satellite campus, students from Grande Prairie and Red Deer will be an integral part of the communities of Saint John and Grande Prairie Regional College or Red Deer College. They will have access to local services and facilities offered by regional partners, and will also be included in community activities organized by Campus Saint-Jean. They will benefit from the support of student services (La Centrale), academic and social support and most of the other services offered to Edmonton students.

This initiative entitled “Training space: growing capacity to meet teacher demand” is supported at the federal and provincial levels. It will increase the number of teachers in French immersion programs and in Francophone schools in the province, and meet the needs of Francophone communities in Alberta.

For Campus Saint-Jean, this is an important milestone in its history that demonstrates its flexibility and ability to meet the demands of today's world.
