Add a Global Perspective to your Degree!

Exchange Programs give you the opportunity to take courses at a partner institution usually for transfer back to your UAlberta degree Program. You can apply to go during the following times:

Fall Term
Winter Term
Academic Year (Fall & Winter Terms)

Exchange programs are a great way to help you:

Understand your field of studies from an international perspective
Demonstrate intercultural understanding and resilience to potential employers
Network to broaden your academic, professional and personal contacts

Eligibility:

To be eligible to participate in an Exchange Program you must:

Be registered as a full-time UAlberta student
Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 and a 2.7 GPA in your most recently completed Fall or Winter term at UAlberta
○ Business students require a cumulative and current GPA of 3.0
(calculated from the point of admission into the School of Business) at
the time of the exchange application deadline
○ Law students require a cumulative and current GPA of 2.7
○ Engineering students require a cumulative 3.3 GPA in the last four academic terms to go abroad (can apply after three terms)
Complete at least 12 credits by the abroad application deadline (15 credits if you're in the Faculty of Science)
Complete at least 18-30 credits (2 terms of full-time status) at UAlberta before going abroad
