Wednesdays: Wellness Wednesday

Wednesdays, 4:00 - 6:00 PM, TELUS Centre

Join us for a drop-in wellness session. This session offers a safe space for you to engage with ISVS support staff, foster social connections, and enjoy a variety of games—board games, card games, Jenga—while also taking time to rest, indulge in snacks, and sip a cup of tea. Come unwind and distress! Additionally, you will have the chance to engage in physical activities if you like, such as walks in the river valley and city outings, outdoor sports, dance lessons, and campus recreational programs.

Fridays: English Conversation Club

Fridays, 3:00 - 5:00 PM, TELUS Centre

The English Conversation Club (ECC) is an opportunity to practice your English speaking skills. Attend the ECC to interact with staff and students from across campus, representing all levels and faculties.

June 22 and 27: UAI Volunteer Info Session

June 22, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM and June 27, 6:00 - 8:00 PM

University of Alberta International (UAI) recruits over 200 volunteers a year. We offer a wide variety of volunteer opportunities that start with basic help, such as an Event Assistant or Office Volunteer, to positions with more responsibilities you can work up to, such as a Welcome Ambassador or Senior Peer. Explore your options and discover your best fit!

Attend a volunteer info session to learn about the volunteer opportunities UAI has to offer. All sessions are hybrid.

July 4 and August 15: Intern Research Symposiums

July 4, 9:30 - 11:30 AM and August 15, 9:30 - 11:30 AM
TELUS Centre

Members of the campus community and the public are welcome and encouraged to join us as visiting international research internship participants share about their projects.

The Research Symposium will feature ten 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) presentations in Telus 150 Auditorium, followed by a research poster symposium in the Telus Centre Atrium for all of our research interns to showcase the research projects they are contributing to on our campuses.

Certificate ceremony from 11:30am-noon after each research symposium.

July 5-7: UAI July Jasper Trip

July 5-7, 2024

Join us for a weekend trip to Jasper and experience the magic of the Canadian Rockies! We will take the Jasper Sky Tram up Whistlers Mountain and visit many of the breathtaking landscapes in Jasper National Park, including Athabasca Falls, Maligne Canyon, and Pyramid Lake. Don't miss this unique experience!

July 20: UAI Drumheller Trip

July 20, 2024

Join us for a trip to the mysterious Alberta Badlands and the Dinosaur Capital of the World, Drumheller. We will be going to the Royal Tyrrell Museum, which houses the world's largest displays of dinosaurs, and trekking Horsethief Canyon. Tickets are $85 each and will cover transportation, admission into the Royal Tyrrell Museum, and lunch. Tickets are first-come-first-serve so sign up now while tickets last!

August 2-4: UAI August Calgary & Banff Trip

August 2 - 4, 2024

Join us for a weekend trip to Banff and experience the bustling city of Calgary and the magic of the Canadian Rockies! We will visit the world-famous Lake Louise, take the Banff Gondola up Sulphur Mountain, and go up the Calgary Tower, which gives a breathtaking view of the city of Calgary with the Rocky Mountains in the background. Don't miss this exclusive experience to see two of Canada's best tourist destinations! Tickets will cover transportation and accommodation.
