Education Abroad Advising
In accordance with the university-wide closure, the International Service Centre (ISC) will be closed as of December 25, 2024, and will reopen on January 2, 2025. Students will be able to access our services as usual up until Dec. 24 at 12:00 p.m.
We are here to help!
Drop-In Advising Hours for Education Abroad Programs
- Monday to Thursday: 9:00 - 11:00 am and 1:00 - 3:00 pm
On Dec. 24, drop-in advising is available from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. After that time, our queue will close to focus on clearing our existing queues before the university closure. We will resume advising services as of January 2, 2025.
U of A students who are interested in education abroad, and international exchange students who need assistance with their exchange programs at the U of A, can connect with an advisor in-person or virtually.
Each advising day, there is a different coordinator with a specific area of expertise, so it is recommended to drop-in according to the type of program you're interested in:
- Monday
- Tuesday
- Semester and Full-Year Exchange Programs
- Assistance to international exchange students already at the University of Alberta
- Wednesday
- e3 or Summer Programs
- Thursday
- Monday - Thursday
- Funding & Awards for Go Abroad opportunities
PLEASE NOTE:
- Morning drop-in advising is generally less busy, resulting in shorter wait times.
- If you arrive close to the morning and afternoon closing times, we may not be able to serve you.
- We do not provide advice on obtaining foreign country work permits, visas, study permits, etc. You should direct all inquiries to the nearest consulate or embassy for your destination country.
- We recommend exploring the Program Finder prior to attending an advising appointment
- For any academic inquiries, please contact your department
- International students looking for Canadian immigration resources can visit ISVS.
