Dr. Margaret Mackey made a presentation at the Newfoundland and Labrador Book History Symposium on May 8. Dr. Mackey reported on "One Child's Book History in St. John's in the 1950s," a summary version of her extensive study of the materials that made her a literate child, growing up in St. John's, NL, in the 1950s and 1960s. The full report of this project appears in One Child Reading: My Auto-Bibliography, published by the University of Alberta Press in April 2016 (see http://www.uap.ualberta.ca/ titles/803-9781772120394-one- child-reading).
