Carol Tonhauser new Educational Developer at U of A SLIS

The School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) at the University of Alberta is delighted to welcome Carol Tonhauser as our embedded Educational Developer. Carol has B.Ed. and M.Ed from the University of Alberta and brings more than two years experience working in the Faculty of Education's Educational Technology Services unit.

The School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) at the University of Alberta is delighted to welcome Carol Tonhauser as our embedded Educational Developer. Carol has a B.Ed. and M.Ed. from the University of Alberta and brings more than two years experience working in the Faculty of Education's Educational Technology Services unit.


Carol will work with faculty members and instructors in both the on-campus and online programs to create engaging and dynamic online and blended courses that meet eCampusAlberta Quality Standards 2.0. She will be an integral part of the continuing development of the online program and its infrastructure and provide leadership in technological initiatives to support learning and teaching at SLIS.

The School of Library and Information Studies' online MLIS program began in September 2013 with 46 students from across Canada and around the world. The program is part-time and more than half of the students are currently working in libraries. A second cohort of 61 online students joins SLIS in September 2014 SLIS has the only fully online MLIS program in Canada. The School received continuing accreditation in July 2013 until 2020.
